We deliver family funeral flowers all over Southend and the surrounding areas and have been for the last 23 years. We have established relationships with Southend and Leigh undertakers and are recommended florist for a few. We take great care and pride in all our funeral wreaths, pillows and letters but have noted a shift away from traditional funeral in the last few years, people are concerned about the costs of a funeral and many of us choose funeral plans to help the family that are left to organise everything. Direct cremations are becoming more popular - so we are asking are funeral flowers a waste of MONEY??
80% of funeral flowers that we make and deliver from our Sunny Leigh on Sea Florist are the main family flowers, a casket spray, a pillow or funeral heart and 'MUM' or 'DAD' are what most families order. They ask for donations from other family and friends. Sometimes close family order individual flowers to place on the casket - which is a beautiful touch and a last farewell. Family now take the flowers back to the celebration of life or enjoy them in the garden for a week or so. We have also know the larger designs to be broken down and posies of flowers given to family. We love this idea of repurposing the flowers. We also offer small jars of flowers for the wake, they start at £12 per table and we can deliver them to Leigh on Sea.

In more recent years, dressing of willow, wicker and seagrass caskets has become popular. Casket Garlands around the coffin are attached onsite and can have delicate seasonal flowers wired through them, take a look at our funeral gallery to see a few examples of these here.

This decision is entirely up to you, florists often deliver the main family flowers to the undertakers so that they are on the hearse with the family member or loved one.
